Technical Writer
Permanent/Full Time
Baltimore MD (Onsite)
We are seeking a detail oriented Technical Writer for our client in Baltimore MD. They’re a leading liquid filling equipment manufacturer. This person will be responsible for creating user manuals and other documentation related with manufacturing industrial machinery or capital equipment.
- Prepare user manuals and related documentation for all product lines by:
- Creating illustrations.
- Acquiring machine HMI screen images.
- Describing machine functionality, including date entry limits.
- Creating video footage of setup and changeover procedures and incorporate those into the instructional steps.
- Creating maintenance and troubleshooting guides.
- Support Sales efforts by creating machine photos, videos, and/or leveraging archival information for sue by the sales and marketing teams.
- Create logos, marketing illustrations, retouch photos and make trade show related collateral.
- Create both Print and Digital manuals for use by customers and our field service teams.
- Assist with patent information requests and make changes to illustrations as needed.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years Technical Writing experience.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat).
- Practical experience creating documentation of complex machinery.
- Ability to exercise good technical writing and graphic design principles.
- Strong analytical and communications skills as well as extremely detail oriented.
Compensation: $110,000.00 per year
